CLASSES
MOVEMENT, ATTENTION & EMBODIMENT
Classes offer regular ways to inhabit your body through movement, breath, attention, energy, stillness and expression. Each practice has its own form and lineage, while sharing an interest in presence, embodiment and developing a more responsive relationship with your body.
YOGA
Yoga brings together movement, breath, strength, mobility, attention, presence and subtle energy. Through the physical body, we also work with the energetic body, including the chakras and the movement of energy through the system.
I teach yoga as an embodied living practice for cultivating awareness, acceptance, aliveness, responsiveness and change. It is a practice of learning to listen to the whispers of your body, so it doesn't have to scream for attention. Through attention, intention and presence, you learn to stay with what is actually here — the places that feel easeful and pleasurable, and those that bring discomfort or resistance.
When you can meet the whole experience rather than reaching only for what feels good, you create the conditions for meaningful change.
Everybody, in every body, is welcome here.

QIGONG
Qigong allows you to develop an experience of yourself from the inside to out. We work with reverence and respect to the ancient knowledge passed down while you move, breath, develop your attention, presence and ability to sense subtle energy - working with your small universe (self) while becoming aware of the affects in your big universe (your world). Through intentional movement, you work with Qi, the meridian system and the dantians, cultivating energy, internal awareness and connection.
My teaching draws from traditional Qigong and Calligraphy Health Nei Gong, movement is practiced without force or unnecessary tension to cultivate power. As you become more sensitive to what is happening within you, you develop greater freedom and responsiveness in how you move, first within your body, and increasingly in how you meet your life.

NON-LINEAR MOVEMENT METHOD®
The Non-Linear Movement Method® (NLMM) is a somatic movement practice developed by Michaela Boehm. Through gentle, self-directed movement, the practice develops interoception — your capacity to sense your internal landscape — while exploring patterns of contraction, emotion, pleasure, resistance and aliveness.
NLMM is a no-force, no-imposition practice. Rather than being shown how your body should move, you develop greater sensitivity to its own impulses and responses. The practice can also bring movement to deeper nervous-system patterns, including places of contraction, holding and freeze, developing your capacity to feel, move, express and respond with greater freedom.
Practiced on a mat or blanket, NLMM is accessible across ages, fitness levels and mobility, with movement adapted to the body you are in.

MEDITATION
Meditation is a practice of meeting yourself without performance — sitting with what is actually here: the body you're in, the breath that's here, and the thoughts, sensations and emotions moving through you.
It develops your capacity for presence and clear seeing: to notice your patterns and reactions without immediately being moved by them, and to stay with yourself when the mind spirals, the body fidgets or something uncomfortable arises.
In the space between reaction and response, we find agency and choice. Meditation helps us cultivate that space. With practice, you become less pulled by every thought, emotion or sensation and more able to remain connected to yourself while choosing how you respond.
The body isn't something you leave behind in order to become still. It remains part of the practice.
